En medio de los inevitables rumores que preceden a un c\u00f3nclave, el embajador de Hungr\u00eda ante la Santa Sede, Eduard Habsburg, ha salido al paso de las especulaciones que circulaban en diversos medios y redes sociales. Seg\u00fan afirmaciones recientes, el cardenal h\u00fangaro P\u00e9ter Erd\u00f6, arzobispo de Esztergom-Budapest, habr\u00eda entablado un acuerdo previo al c\u00f3nclave con el ex Secretario de Estado vaticano, el cardenal Pietro Parolin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLa especulaci\u00f3n sobre un acuerdo previo al c\u00f3nclave entre el cardenal h\u00fangaro P\u00e9ter Erd\u00f6 y el ex Secretario de Estado vaticano, cardenal Pietro Parolin, es totalmente falsa. El cardenal Erd\u00f6 no ha participado en tales discusiones\u201d, declar\u00f3 Habsburg en su cuenta oficial de X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El desmentido pretende sofocar los rumores sobre posibles alianzas estrat\u00e9gicas en v\u00edsperas del pr\u00f3ximo c\u00f3nclave, que, tras la muerte del Papa Francisco, se celebrar\u00e1 en apenas unos d\u00edas. La figura del cardenal Erd\u00f6 ha sido se\u00f1alada en algunos an\u00e1lisis como uno de los nombres \u201cpapables\u201d, tanto por su perfil doctrinalmente s\u00f3lido como por su experiencia al frente de la Conferencia Episcopal H\u00fangara y su papel clave en el S\u00ednodo de la Familia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La sombra de los pactos pre-c\u00f3nclave, tradicionalmente prohibidos por la constituci\u00f3n apost\u00f3lica Universi Dominici Gregis, planea sobre cada elecci\u00f3n pontificia. En 1996, San Juan Pablo II reafirm\u00f3 que cualquier compromiso previo entre cardenales con vistas a la elecci\u00f3n papal es nulo y prohibido bajo pena de excomuni\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
