En ese momento, casi el 30% de la electricidad del pa\u00eds proven\u00eda del carb\u00f3n, pero el a\u00f1o pasado esa proporci\u00f3n hab\u00eda ca\u00eddo a poco m\u00e1s del 1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEl Reino Unido ha demostrado que es posible eliminar gradualmente la energ\u00eda del carb\u00f3n a una velocidad sin precedentes\u201d, dijo Julia Skorupska, directora de la secretar\u00eda de Powering Past Coal Alliance, un grupo de alrededor de 60 gobiernos nacionales que buscan poner fin a la energ\u00eda del carb\u00f3n.La ca\u00edda de la energ\u00eda generada a partir del carb\u00f3n ha ayudado a reducir&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/uk\/uks-greenhouse-gas-emissions-fell-54-2023-government-data-shows-2024-03-28\/\">las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero<\/a>&nbsp;de Gran Breta\u00f1a , que se han reducido a m\u00e1s de la mitad desde 1990.Gran Breta\u00f1a, que tiene como objetivo alcanzar emisiones netas cero para 2050, tambi\u00e9n planea descarbonizar el sector el\u00e9ctrico para 2030, una medida que requerir\u00e1 un r\u00e1pido aumento de la energ\u00eda renovable, como la e\u00f3lica y la solar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLa era del carb\u00f3n podr\u00eda estar terminando, pero una nueva era de buenos empleos energ\u00e9ticos para nuestro pa\u00eds reci\u00e9n est\u00e1 comenzando\u201d, dijo el ministro de Energ\u00eda, Michael Shanks, en una declaraci\u00f3n enviada por correo electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las emisiones de energ\u00eda representan alrededor de tres cuartas partes de las emisiones totales de gases de efecto invernadero y los cient\u00edficos han dicho que se debe frenar el uso de combustibles f\u00f3siles para cumplir los objetivos establecidos en el acuerdo clim\u00e1tico de Par\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En abril, los principales pa\u00edses industrializados del G7 acordaron abandonar la energ\u00eda a base de carb\u00f3n en la primera mitad de la pr\u00f3xima d\u00e9cada, pero tambi\u00e9n dieron cierto margen de maniobra a las econom\u00edas que dependen en gran medida del carb\u00f3n,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/environment\/g7-agree-deal-quit-coal-by-2035-with-caveat-2024-04-30\/\">lo que gener\u00f3 cr\u00edticas<\/a>\u00a0de los grupos ecologistas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHay mucho trabajo por hacer para garantizar que el objetivo de 2035 se cumpla y se prorrogue hasta 2030, en particular en Jap\u00f3n, Estados Unidos y Alemania\u201d, dijo Christine Shearer, analista de investigaci\u00f3n de Global Energy Monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La energ\u00eda generada a partir del carb\u00f3n todav\u00eda representa m\u00e1s del 25% de la electricidad de Alemania y m\u00e1s del 30% de la de Jap\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reportaje de Susanna Twidale;
