Estos podr\u00edan cambiar la manera en la que se diagnostica y se predice la evoluci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Desarrollo del estudio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Se tomaron y analizaron muestras de tejido de<strong>&nbsp;24 pacientes<\/strong>&nbsp;diagnosticados recientemente con c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata incipiente para realizar el estudio. El grupo de investigadores, liderado por el profesor Alexander Swarbrick, utiliz\u00f3<strong>&nbsp;tecnolog\u00edas de secuenciaci\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;de&nbsp;<strong>ARN de c\u00e9lula \u00fanica<\/strong>&nbsp;para estudiar la actividad gen\u00e9tica de cada c\u00e9lula, adem\u00e1s de<strong>&nbsp;transcript\u00f3mica espacial&nbsp;<\/strong>para ubicarlas en su contexto exacto dentro del tumor. Estas tecnolog\u00edas permitieron la construcci\u00f3n de un atlas que identifica&nbsp;<strong>11 tipos celulares principales, 50 subtipos menores y m\u00faltiples estados celulares<\/strong>, seg\u00fan Europa Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo que m\u00e1s sorprendi\u00f3 fue el hallazgo de un&nbsp;<strong>n\u00famero significativo<\/strong>&nbsp;de c\u00e9lulas que, bajo el microscopio, parecen completamente normales, pero en realidad, presentan<strong>&nbsp;alteraciones en el ADN<\/strong>&nbsp;asociadas al c\u00e1ncer. Swarbrick explica que este proyecto demuestra que los m\u00e9todos de diagn\u00f3stico basados solo en la observaci\u00f3n de anomal\u00edas estructurales podr\u00edan estar<strong>&nbsp;pasando por alto&nbsp;<\/strong>etapas cruciales del desarrollo tumoral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los investigadores han advertido que aunque las c\u00e9lulas pueden parecer sanas, pueden llevar a\u00f1o<strong>s acumulando mutaciones<\/strong>&nbsp;antes de que se presenten los&nbsp;<strong>primeros signos<\/strong>&nbsp;del tumor y se detecte por medio de t\u00e9cnicas convencionales. El hecho de que se identifique mucho antes la enfermedad, da pie a futuros m\u00e9todos de cribado molecular capaces de detectar el c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata&nbsp;<strong>antes<\/strong>&nbsp;de que exista una evidencia mucho m\u00e1s visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un tipo celular descubierto<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Por otra parte, los cient\u00edficos han detallado por primera vez un&nbsp;<strong>tipo celular desconocido<\/strong>&nbsp;hasta el momento:&nbsp;<strong>Los fibroblastos asociados al c\u00e1ncer perineural.<\/strong>&nbsp;Son c\u00e9lulas de tejido conectivo que est\u00e1n situadas en&nbsp;<strong>zonas pr\u00f3ximas&nbsp;<\/strong>a los nervios dentro del tumor. Seg\u00fan su an\u00e1lisis molecular, parecen estar especialmente adaptadas para comunicarse con el sistema nervioso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, los nervios han cobrado cierta<strong>&nbsp;relevancia&nbsp;<\/strong>en la progresi\u00f3n tumoral y este hallazgo podr\u00eda ayudar a explicar por qu\u00e9 los tumores de pr\u00f3stata que invaden \u00e1reas nerviosas suelen estar relacionados con peores diagn\u00f3sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuente: <a
