Badillo<\/a> \/ El Confidencial<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un avance experimental dirigido a comprender la evoluci\u00f3n de la artrosis&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/med.stanford.edu\/news\/all-news\/2025\/11\/joint-cartilage-aging.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ha permitido revertir el deterioro del cart\u00edlago articular<\/a>&nbsp;en ratones de edad avanzada mediante la&nbsp;<strong>inhibici\u00f3n de una prote\u00edna clave en el envejecimiento tisular<\/strong>. El trabajo, liderado por Stanford Medicine y&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/doi\/10.1126\/science.adx6649\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">difundido en la revista&nbsp;<em>Science<\/em><\/a>, revela un enfoque que podr\u00eda transformar el manejo cl\u00ednico de esta enfermedad degenerativa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El estudio se centr\u00f3 en la prote\u00edna 15-PGDH, identificada como una&nbsp;<em>gerozima<\/em>&nbsp;por su aumento progresivo con la edad y su impacto en la degradaci\u00f3n de prostaglandina E2.&nbsp;<strong>Al bloquear esta enzima<\/strong>, los investigadores observaron que los condrocitos&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elconfidencial.com\/tecnologia\/novaceno\/2022-01-16\/crean-metodo-regenerar-cartilago-acabar-artrosis_3358640\/\">recuperaban patrones de expresi\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica propios de c\u00e9lulas j\u00f3venes<\/a>, produciendo cart\u00edlago hialino funcional, un tejido cuya regeneraci\u00f3n natural es extremadamente limitada.https:\/\/datos.elconfidencial.com\/pildoras-subsecciones\/?section=cta-seo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los ensayos realizados mostraron una<strong>&nbsp;recuperaci\u00f3n notable del grosor del cart\u00edlago en las articulaciones&nbsp;<\/strong>de los ratones tratados, as\u00ed como una mejora mec\u00e1nica visible en su movilidad. Adem\u00e1s, el mismo tratamiento aplicado tras lesiones que simulan&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.elconfidencial.com\/alma-corazon-vida\/consultorio-medico\/2019-01-30\/lesion-rotura-ligamento-cruzado-quironsalud-bra_1788754\/\">roturas del ligamento cruzado anterior<\/a>&nbsp;redujo de manera significativa la probabilidad de desarrollar artrosis postraum\u00e1tica, un fen\u00f3meno habitual en deportistas con traumatismos repetidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regeneraci\u00f3n del cart\u00edlago<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Uno de los aspectos m\u00e1s relevantes del trabajo radica en que la regeneraci\u00f3n observada no depende de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elconfidencial.com\/salud\/2025-10-02\/catalogo-de-cicatrices-del-adn-cancer_4220629\/\">c\u00e9lulas madre<\/a>, sino de la&nbsp;<strong>reprogramaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas ya maduras<\/strong>. Las pruebas confirmaron que la intervenci\u00f3n favoreci\u00f3 la<strong>&nbsp;regeneraci\u00f3n de cart\u00edlago hialino en lugar del fibrocart\u00edlago<\/strong>, menos adecuado para soportar carga y permitir el movimiento sin fricci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Efectos en el tejido humano<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Para verificar la posible aplicabilidad cl\u00ednica, los investigadores analizaron muestras humanas procedentes de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elconfidencial.com\/tecnologia\/2024-01-17\/asi-funciona-protesis-pierna-bionica_3812871\/\">reemplazos de rodilla por artrosis<\/a>. La especialista subray\u00f3 que<strong>&nbsp;los resultados modifican la visi\u00f3n tradicional sobre la incapacidad del cart\u00edlago<\/strong>&nbsp;para repararse a s\u00ed mismo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El proyecto, financiado por instituciones como los National Institutes of Health y la Baxter Foundation for Stem Cell Biology, se apoya en datos previos que demuestran que&nbsp;<strong>un inhibidor oral de 15-PGDH es seguro en humanos<\/strong>.
